Website operation and security

Connection and request data, including your IP address, are processed to deliver the website, diagnose faults and protect it against misuse. The website runs on a STRATO server. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website. Server logs are rotated when configured size limits are reached; how long a record remains therefore depends on log volume.

WordPress uses authentication cookies for administration. Login protection processes IP addresses and submitted usernames locally to limit failed sign-in attempts; detailed failed-login records are scheduled for deletion after seven days. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, for website security.

Local statistics

Koko Analytics counts pageviews on this server to help improve the website. It uses no analytics cookies or visitor fingerprints. Query strings and referrer URLs are removed before storage; statistics are deleted after three calendar months. No external analytics provider receives the statistics. The legal basis, insofar as personal data are processed, is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my interest in understanding use of the website.

Email and telephone enquiries

I process your contact details and the information you provide to handle and respond to your enquiry. An email-service provider handles email delivery and storage; telecommunications providers handle telephone communication. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in handling enquiries about my work. Providing information is voluntary; without sufficient contact details I cannot reply. Enquiry data are retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and meet any applicable statutory retention duties.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular where you live or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. Send rights requests to csi@c-7.de.
