AI WORKFLOWS
An AI workflow needs a record of its work
Methods from my own agent-orchestration R&D.
A plausible answer is not an activity record
An AI-generated result does not explain, by itself, which inputs were used, what changed or who checked it. That distinction matters when the result enters a real working process. In my own agent-orchestration work, including ShellAgents, the useful question is what another person can inspect after the run.
Keep the record useful
A useful working record identifies the task, the material considered, important decisions, tests and remaining limitations. It should help the next person understand the work, not bury them in a transcript. The level of recording depends on the purpose and the sensitivity of the material.
Documentation is not certification
An activity record can support review and handover. It does not establish legal compliance, remove model error or certify the system. ShellAgents is part of my internal R&D experience. The service is the disciplined workflow and the result it can support.
